ChildGuard® Environmental Exposure Testing is a specialized hair and/or nail analysis designed to determine whether a child has been exposed to drugs in their environment. Unlike traditional hair or nail drug testing, which is intended to detect drug use, ChildGuard® testing identifies passive environmental exposure by detecting both native drugs and drug metabolites in the specimen. This non-invasive test can identify environmental drug exposure over approximately the previous 90 days and is appropriate for children of all ages. It is commonly used in child custody matters, child welfare investigations, foster care cases, legal proceedings, and whenever parents, guardians, healthcare providers, or attorneys need objective laboratory evidence of possible drug exposure. Environmental Exposure (ChildGuard®) testing may detect exposure resulting from: Drug smoke in the surrounding environment Contact with drug residue Contact with the sweat or skin oils of an individual actively using drugs Accidental or unintentional ingestion of drugs Important: ChildGuard® Environmental Exposure Testing is intended to identify evidence of environmental drug exposure. Test results should always be interpreted within the context of the individual's circumstances and, when appropriate, in consultation with medical, legal, or child welfare professionals.
